EDIT:  Is this actually a next-gen console though? It seems more reasonable to say that the Wii was a last-gen console, a very mildly souped up GameCube with a revolutionary, industry changing motion controller and smooth rebranding.  I suppose the Wii2 (or Super Wii as I hope it’s called) is really their answer to the 360 and PS3; they managed to make a boatload of dollars on relatively slight development costs for the Wii, all the while playing for time to enter the current generation.  Sadly, they may have lost the trust of the hardcore, but when you’re Nintendo it’s pretty easy to win people back over I guess.  We’ll see if this impacts Microsoft or Sony’s plans for their next consoles, which are supposedly five years away.
